A sprawling complex of abandoned hospital buildings. Constructed in the late 1890s, the complex initially served as a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients.

An abandoned psychiatric hospital in Ireland. The facilities were built in the 1850s, the called a "county lunatic asylum". The hospital is in a very poor state, considering it was only closed 10 years ago!

This abandoned church stands on a small hill, making it a prominent landmark. It was built in the 1880s in the Gothic style. During the early 2010s, the church was declared redundant and closed. The closure was in response to shrinking congregation sizes, as well as a lack of funds to repair the roof.

A forgotten sports complex in Lithuania

Built in the 1950s, it has clearly been abandoned for many decades (still trying to find out exactly how long!). There is a huge swimming pool, as well as a decaying gymnasium.

After #WW2, it was occupied by the Soviet Union Air Force until it was #abandoned in 1994. I spent quite some time scouring the airbase for this bas relief depicting an MiG (possibly a MiG-27). It was hidden in a most unusual place, and I had almost given up hope. But finally, I found it isit as that light began to fade

The hospital was the county’s first of such facilities, dating back to the early 1800s. A relic from a time when mental health was poorly understood.
Around the turn of the century, the hospital finally closed its doors.
The hulking figure looms against the skyline, a painful reminder for many families.

Inside there is some very bold wallpaper, most of it peeling from damp and years of neglect. It seems that the former resident was into two things; cross stitch and bible verses. Exploring this #abandoned television and radio broadcast station, I decided to take a little #selfie. Camera on tripod, 10 seconds shutter delay...and...RUN!
#FunFact I have super long blue and green hair, but I keep it clipped up 99% of the time. I only let it down while exploring to take a photo, then back up it goes

A sneaky photo my friend snapped of me, during a trip to #Lebanon earlier this year.
I cut my hand climbing up to this balcony, not a great start to injure myself at the first location! I soon forgot about my bleeding hand when I started shooting this beautiful old house overlooking the sea.
