The McPherson Playhouse theatre in Victoria, BC has supposedly received visits from the "Grey Lady" over the last 75 years. This female ghost wears a long, blue-grey dress and wanders the theatre's balcony; sometimes she floats above the actors. No one knows her true identity.

Something brand new, the tree and ravens were captured in the highlands of Falls Creek here in Australia. We have very chaotic forests which means the fog is quite vital to making a clear composition. The ravens were captured in nearby trees as there are many found in this area, just not where you want them =P

H7N8 Bird flu detected on fourth poultry farm in Victoria

The H7N8 high pathogenicity avian influenza (bird flu) has been detected at a fourth poultry farm in Euroa, in northeastern Victoria.

Agriculture Victoria said the new detection is within the 5km restricted area and in close proximity to the three other infected properties.

Before today, the latest detection had been on 20 February.

Victoria’s Acting chief veterinary officer, Dr Cameron Bell, said that given the new detection was “not unexpected” given how close the affected properties were to each other.

Dr Bell said:

This detection is the result of comprehensive and ongoing surveillance activities by Agriculture Victoria staff within restricted and control areas.

Control orders have been in place since the H7 strain was first detected on a poultry farm on 8 February.

The orders restrict the movement of poultry, poultry products, equipment, and vehicles on or off properties in designated zones around the infected properties to prevent the spread of the disease.

These zones include a restricted area covering a 5km radius around the farms, with a broader control area spanning the Strathbogie Shire east of the Goulburn Valley Freeway, and including the townships of Euroa, Violet Town, Longwood, Ruffy, Avenel and Strathbogie.

H7N8 avian influenza discovered on third poultry farm in Victoria

Agriculture Victoria has confirmed H7N8 high pathogenicity avian influenza (bird flu) on a third poultry farm in Euroa. This new detection is in close proximity to the two other infected properties.

Victoria’s acting chief veterinary officer, Dr Cameron Bell, said given the close proximity of these properties, this new detection is not unexpected, and that Agriculture Victoria staff are on the ground working closely with industry to contain and eradicate the virus.

Control orders have been in place since H7 was first detected on a poultry farm on 13 February, restricting the movement of poultry, poultry products, equipment, and vehicles on or off properties in designated zones around the infected properties to prevent disease spread.

Bell said:

If you are in the control or restricted areas, you cannot move birds, products (including eggs and manure) or equipment into, out of, or within the area without permit. This includes selling or giving away eggs from your poultry – these must not leave your property.

With the confirmation of H7N8 on a third property, a housing requirement remains in place for properties with 50 or more poultry in the restricted area. This includes Euroa and extends approximately 5km from the affected properties in all directions.
