Vaca Barn

I captured this Vacaville barn many years ago and found it as I did a review of some of my older work.
I reworked the image as a fire was burning in the hills shown behind the barn. Fortunately the fire never came close to the barn and it remains standing to this day.
The sun is setting behind the hills throwing off a nice warm orange glow.

Vaca Barn This is an image of an old weathered barn in rural Vacaville, California. The foreground shows a freshly cut field of hay that has yet to been bailed and stored. The barn is completely weathered looking with decaying boards that are stripped of any paint that was once on them. The tin roof has many rust spots on it but the structure itself seems to still have structural integrity. Behind the barn is a large oak tree backed by the Solano hills. The sun has set over the hills and the sky has an orangish tint to it.

Pigeon Point Lighthouse

Halfway between Halfmoon Bay And Santa Cruz is where you will find this lighthouse. The light was built in 1872 and is 115 feet tall. It is named Carrier Pigeonafter the ship that wrecked here in 1853.

Pigeon Point Lighthouse This is an image of the Pigeon Point Lighthouse located on the California Coast between Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz. The lighthouse is undergoing restoration and there is a chain link fence around the base of the lighthouse. There is a weathered white picket fence leading up to the lighthouse. In front of the lighthouse is a small storage building. Behind the storage building is the actual light. The cylindrical light stands 115 feet tall is tied for the tallest lighthouse on the west coast. The sky is mostly clear with a few whispy clouds.

Worlds End

I found this rowing club near the end of North Harbor Drive in Noyo Harbor.
This image captures the door that open up to the river. It somewhat reflects how I feel about the world today with a lone boat out on a desolate sea. I would have loved to have the opportunity to take a tour just to see what was in this old rusty building. I absolutely love old #weathered #wood. It has so much character. The #pattern and texture are awesome as well as the bonus #knots. Barn board makes a terrific wood abstract. This particular barn board is on an old barn built in the #1800s in Ariss Ontario Canada.
