#Chicago has a significant population of #BlackPeople and other #POC. I took hundreds of pictures, some of which are in this thread ➡️ mastodon.social/@rameshgupta/1. It was obvious that #BlackAmerican community was underrepresented.

#Chicago #HandsOff #Protests If there is a single poster that sums up today's protests, it has to be this, which says "It's YOU. You're the Problem. Everybody Agrees!" With so many "Hands Off This, Hands Off That," "This Right and That Right," and one that even tells the American President to "Stop the Attack on the American People," it is clear that there are many voices, but they are not discordant. If #Trump has riled up SO MANY Americans even before his 100 days are up, HE IS THE PROBLEM

“They’ve got some very bad things going on in South Africa,” #Trump goes on a #ConspiracyTheory based tangent when he outlines the reciprocal tariff against that nation. Trump & #Musk have repeatedly amplified false claims about the persecution of #white Afrikaners in #SouthAfrica, & made an exception to his refugee ban to screen Afrikaners for #refugee status. Trump included in his tangent a typical criticism of the #media for how it covers South Africa.

Dear #white #trans people,

Do you ever have those moments when you're in like a crowd of cis het non-queer people who know you're trans but it's like an elephant in the room? like they'll awkwardly step around the topic, or stop conversations abruptly when the discussion strays too close?

Have you ever thought about like what is going through their minds?

- "Oh, this doesn't affect me, I don't know what to say"
- "ah, I'll just avoid the topic, I don't want [her/him/them] to get upset at me"
- "I don't know enough to respond"

I assume they must have good intentions surely? but like it doesn't really make it hurt any less though...

Anyway, consider reflecting on what goes through your own mind when you see one of my posts about racism. (it esp irks me when people interact with my post-racism-vent posts, so they clearly saw the racism ones, and then felt comfortable reacting to a non-race-related post).

Is your sympathy reserved only for other white trans people? I guess so, but maybe be upfront about that.
