Video from Bike Edmonton:
"Neighbourhood renewal along 132nd Ave includes bike paths, safer crossings, and traffic calming. The new infrastructure will allow kids attending the 8 schools along this stretch to arrive safely and independently. The old, overbuilt wide roads encourage speeding and aggressive driving through the school and playground zones, while not leaving room for anyone who isn't in a car. Let's take a tour from Fort Road to 127th street to see what is being built, and what it is replacing."

Hey #yeg folk… anyone looking for a tent trailer? We are downsizing our vehicles (and don’t camp so much anymore as our kids become adults). Got a few issues (fridge doesn’t work - we use a little bar fridge on shore power)

Great sleeping trailer, comfy, dry, off the ground. More details and photos below.

Absolutely infuriating! The UCP is pulling another Ford Nation on Edmonton.

'In a letter dated April 16, 2025, Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors Devin Dreeshen demanded that the City cancel or postpone the construction of bike lanes between 66 Street and 97 Street, citing concerns about "driving capacity."

This proposal is not only out of touch—it’s dangerous.

Let’s be clear: 132 Avenue is a City-owned residential collector road. It’s not part of Alberta’s provincial highway system. The Province does not fund this project, nor does it maintain or operate this roadway. The street is home to schools, homes, seniors’ centres, parks, and small businesses—not freight corridors.

The renewal design was developed through four years of public engagement. Hundreds of Edmontonians helped shape this plan. They asked for slower speeds, safer crossings, better bike and walk infrastructure, and a more livable street.

The Province now wants to override that work—and remove already-approved, already-funded infrastructure—based on political ideology, not data.'

yegbike.infoProvince’s Attempt to Scrap 132 Avenue Bike Lanes a Step Backward for Safety, Families, and Our FutureThe YEG Bike Coalition opposes Alberta's plan to scrap 132 Avenue bike lanes, citing safety, community support, and climate goals. Edmonton deserves safer, inclusive streets.

Violent sleet storm outside right now! I had to turn off my bike alarm, the force of the sleet and wind was setting it off immediately.

(Of course we have bike lockers sitting in the loading bay since last year, which nobody has put up yet.)

And apparently the wind has shifted already? I got to ride into it all the way to work, maybe I'll get another headwind going back, lol.

My wife says that blown-away recycle bags are littering the alley.

I found out at an expulsion hearing that most schools in #yeg cannot afford counselors.

As schools deal with suicides, bullying, mental crises, etc., Danielle Smith is happy to throw hundreds of millions into detox jails.

But increase our school budget for children? Yeah, not going to happen. #abpoli

#CdnPoli frustration:

In my #yeg riding the NDP has given the CPC incumbent a strong run over the last 2 elections with LPC also rans: right now we have a very strong and active NDP candidate, canvassing since the fall, and a LPC candidate declared at the last minute and only just getting organized. Yet projections consistently place the LPC neck and neck with CPC, and NDP support cratered to 8%, in proportions that look suspiciously like the national figures.
