My new job sitch means new #transportation needs, specifically something I can bring on a rush-hour train, so I bought one of them E-skateboard thingies just got it today & took it out for half a battery's worth of practice - it's a lot of fun, very easy, much faster than walking obvi & also I was acutely aware that I wasn't wearing a helmet, so ordering one of those now...
This board is on sale at vayabike.com at nearly 1/3 price, which certainly helped my decision
@jwcph cool! does it have brakes, or how does that work? (am skateboard noob)
@bazkie Yes, it does - it works by way of holding a remote in your hand with a speed thumb wheel & if you pull that wheel backwards it motor-brakes. I'm a n00b too but it seems really intuitive, the only thing that feels like it can get a bit scary is that if you feel like you're veering & overcompensate & overcompensate again etc., you can get into a sort-of increasing oscillation... I think I'm going to tighten the tilt joints ("trucks", apparently) a little, seems like it might help.
@jwcph oh yeah I remember that oscillation from a skater friend back in the day! happy trucking I guess!
