Bye-Bye Birdie Part 2. https://hikatamika.com/2024/10/22/bye-bye-birdie-part-2/
The sequel blog-post about wanting to quit Twitter, by someone who's successfully managed to both quit, and dwarf, their Twitter account, but now has new challenges to face.
(Don't worry, this isn't BSky promo, it's moreso commentary on my personal BSky Hug-Of-Death)
For folks that like reading longform thoughts and opinions online… (readers real, 2024?!) I have added a cinema section to my website with the written forms of my YouTube videos, with links and embeds! :D
Fun on BlueSky, the YouTube Hug of Death, and… a mailing list?

Posting this week's Weekly Roundup Thing early cause I don't wanna think about it anymore.
On burnout and Big Soc Med and ultimately trusting my own experiences. https://hikatamika.com/2024/06/16/weekly-roundup-thing-24/
"When I unplug and have time to cook, be by myself, and think for myself, the art comes out better. But is that an act of self-sabotage in our current social media landscape?"
These thoughts and more in this week's Weekly Roundup Thing. https://hikatamika.com/2024/06/09/weekly-roundup-thing-23/
Take a look at my blog, Beautiful Sun Adventures, where I've shared a brief article titled "Timing the Sunrise" from my perspective as a photographer.

It’s so cool that a thing that we see hanging on a wall, that seems like it is an object, it’s in a frame, it has been placed there, we can stand and look at it, that that thing can also at the same time, be moving around.

The Longer You Look, The Weirder It Gets
There’s so much to see and re-see around us. Sneaky details and oddities that we suddenly notice. Layers and layers of reality, everywhere.
Let's consider that using a painting where we don't know the name of the artist and there's a big red dude and a mysterious hat.

It was as I stood photographing Whitefish Point Lighthouse on a cold winter day in 2018, that I decided that I needed to start publishing my work for others to see. What good was it to have a beautiful image like this and not have anyone else see it? And, I also got to thinking….even though a picture might be worth a thousand words, that doesn't tell the story behind the image. My photo blog is more like a story, not an instructional article. What I might have gone through to get to the point when I clicked the shutter. https://debbeausoleil.com
Then I discovered Mastodon. It's a community like no other social media platform. It's so much more to me than just a place to share my art. During some pretty low points in my life in the past year, I could always count on some interesting, funny, beautiful conversations in my home feed. Things that would take my mind off what was really going on in my world. And for that, I thank you all for the part you've played.

"I can't draw." I think we've all said this at least once, artist or not. Let's go through my art journey, see where I've come from, where I've gone, and discuss talent vs skill.

If you've seen my sh*t art you may have wondered if I ever do Good Art. And it happens. While I work on a portfolio site I've put some samples on a tumblr blog. Take a look and enjoy!

My spammer fight continues on today's episode of Saltingbox of Nothings!
Sorry I went old school at the end of the blog so I'm going old school here too lol. Having fun with this fight! Thanks for reading! If you have #spammer issues on your WordPress site, then this #ArtBlog is for you! In fact, if you have trouble with spammers, period, then this art blog is for you.
Btw, give me a few hours and I'll share another pause blog.
It’s ironic considering today is Sunday, but this was day 2 of the pause. I was beginning to layout my plans for the pause, but I never got around to completing them. Still good to start somewhere, though. Enjoy!
