It’s very grey and cold here today, although the forecast rain hasn’t arrived (yet?). There are blackthorn flowers and lambs though.

While I was gardening earlier I heard a lot of bleating so snuck down the footpath and found a little gang of lambs had discovered the stream through their field and were taking great delight in gambolling down to it then back up, down, up, etc…
In turn I took great delight in watching them.

Nice little walk around the hills this afternoon, despite the very unfair loss of sunshine. I could show you pics, but you've seen it all before by now and you get it. It's beautiful around here

I just walked the path through one of the sheep fields. I think they could remember that I was a decoy at feeding time the other day. Ewes and lambs came over to me then looked hopefully back towards the farmhouse as if expecting that the farmer with food was following behind me. Sadly they were disappointed and will have to wait another hour.
Shenanigans in the sheep field. It seems you’re never too old to climb on mum.
It’s a warm (for Wales in April) day, so the #Sheep have come in for a lie down in the shade.

I run a mixed age flock of soay sheep. It works very well and also has as its peacekeeper Dorothy the herdwick ewe who is now at least 14. So just now one of the ewes was calling loudly - I went to see what was happening: the two almost year old ewe lambs had taken the tiny lambs with them to play in the adjacent paddock - the gate was open and all was fine except the mothers couldn’t work out how to get their little babies back so loud sheepy shouting. #Defaidodon
