:zerotwo_learn: It's an unfortunately short video this time, but I hope this helps anyone confused about what's going on. The Elder Scrolls has a lot of lore that affects the stories that play out in the games, but it can be hard to track it down in an easy-to-understand form. The books tend to be all over the place, picked up out of order, or, as is the case for a lot of us, just something we don't really engage with while we're playing :bugcat_nod:

Hey Youtube, uuuuh, are...are you alright? That's a stream from a week ago :blobfox_confused: It has a third of the audio bit-rate the single videos do on a channel whose main draw is the audio... :bear_shrug:

Also, who the heck is watching it and why are the numbers increasing? It's literally a stream that says "Succubard Reads You To Sleep" but it's already midnight UTC-7... :neofox_confused:

A screenshot from within Youtube Studio of views over the last 48 hours. it is sparse, with less than 1 view per hour for most of it, but the graph suddenly and rapidly bends upward in the last 8 hours.

While I'm sitting here nursing a headache waiting for my estrogen and my heart-rate monitor to arrive, I had a thought...

Up until my body forced me to stop being a violinist in February, it feels like I had a different image to uphold compared to now where I'm a full-time succubard lore-mistress :blobhaj_think:

Despite the fact that this has been both a personal and professional account the entire time, it feels like my own perception of what I can post and boost had shifted somewhat :zerotwo_learn:

I kind of wonder if that shift has been noticeable looking in from the outside? :shiba_confused:

Holy hells, the reading channel crested 100 subscribers already :furret_excited: The violin channel was a little over 800 subs when I had to put down the violin in February, but at this rate, we might catch up sooner than I thought possible :cat_wow:

If you've played *any* major Elder Scrolls game, you're going to be at least tangentially aware of the organisation, even if you're not aware of the history or the totality of their activities :zerotwo_learn: In Morrowind, you're even a Blades agent yourself, if memory serves :blob_nod:

Yup, it's the dark brotherhood, a group that stems from an earlier group who was born of a worship for Mephala :cat_giggle: The Dark Brotherhood quest-line is, as I hear it, a lot of people's favourites when it comes to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, from the way it's introduced to how it plays out, and it's often used as a barometer to measure other quest-lines up against, both in Oblivion and in other TES games.

Hopefully, you enjoy getting a bit of a look into the history of the organisation~ :frog_blush:

Today, we're reading about the Oblivion Crisis, which were the events that took place during The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. This is a perfect book to read after yesterday's On Oblivion for reasons you'll figure out once you listen to it :bugcat_nod:

This book is available in TESV: Skyrim, which makes sense. It was written between Oblivion and Skyrim, with details that would be known to the Hero of Kvatch, but not to a historian trying to put the events together afterwards without access to them :zerotwo_learn:
