I should make a much simpler AFD ROM hack project next that doesn't involve this much computing and shenanigans.

Perhaps one of the most inventive ROM hacks I've seen, which sounds really simple but has all sorts of interesting implications. What if we gave Mario in Mario 64 a shotgun?

Pokemon Polished Crystal is crazy good, I wish official remasters could be like this.
It's still a Game Boy Color game, and somehow it's still only 2MB, but it has:
- Tons more pokemon
- per-pokemon menu sprites (!!)
- Phys/Special Split
- instant text, running shoes, auto advance text and dozens of more QOL fixes
- Modern "what's this move" info boxes
- Tons more music and some unique content (lyra is your friend-rival)
Looking for help with understanding the MC68000 instruction set. Or better yet, ROM hacking arcade games running on the 68k.
Context: I want to do a ROM hack for Dodonpachi. There was an extremely rare version that goes by "campaign version" or "blue label". Between CAVE saying they've lost the source code and the few people owning the PCB not dumping the ROM yet, it seems unlikely we'll ever get access to the official version. So I thought, "Fine, I'll do it myself."
Of course, I don't expect to be able to recreate it 100% accurately. Close enough is my goal.
