It's also important to note that fascists don't really have an ideology, so it's not useful to focus just on ideology.

In the rat race of the "law of the jungle", these proto and paleo fascists also focus on what's now called "biohacking". Well, the rich get real biohacking like that plant-based rich guy who wants to live forever, Bryan Johnson, and the rest get more and more pseudoscientific products; scams.

The thing with diets is that the if you're not getting acute toxicity or poisons, you don't really grasp how harmful it can be, especially if it's not found in long-term population studies.

It's such a pain in the moral ass. These meat clowns are harming themselves with their ignorance and LARP diets, and that forces me to figure out if I should warn them or if I should just let them earn Darwin awards. Either way, they are feeding a not-so-modern grifting economy, which spreads this contagion of foolishness to others.

#HellenKeller was a real, #Historical figure. She was in fact, #deaf and #blind, due to a #measles infection when she was a baby, a known potential injury from it which drives the push for #Vaccines. She was a major proponent of the #Disability inclusion, #Feminist, and general #CivilRights movements of the early to mid 1900s. She is a major figure among #marginalized groups.

Claims from the #History-#skeptic, #AntiVax, and White Supremacist movements that she is fictional are false: she was a real person who actually lived, with extensive news reports and official documents of her exploits, including meeting presidents Cleveland and Johnson, and we have a whole archive of videos about her. The movie about her is based on the historically accurate story of her childhood.

I kinda love #fedi, that there's a post with graphs that shows what we all believe to be true; yet there will be replies that go "I looked at the paper and here is a nuance, complexity or framing problem"

This ability to look at the things we want to be true and yet still interrogate them is what makes a humble skeptic. The tools are firstly there to be applied to our own ideas, not as a weapon to fight others' ideas. Especially when we want or "know" the truth already.
