Mornings like these fill my soul.

The pastures have rested and the animals are out in the field again, which means a daily hike around the #farm and all-weather milking for the next two months or so.

I live for these breaks from #writing, for the daily reminder that life is amazing, and so much more than what happens on a computer.

I #write every day, but Friday kicks off my personal #writing time! Today I hope to record my latest #blog as a podcast, update my site with it and a few other details, then settle into chapter 9 of the book I'm writing. Maybe I'll even get up another blog post this weekend.

I've been working my way through the pig fat in my freezer, rendering lard and making chicharrones. Pigs are a staple on our farm. They not only help us till the soil, control grass, and fertilize - but they also provide the main source of protein and fat for our diet.

These pigskins will be strained out then put in the air fryer, where the last lard will be drawn out and they will puff into the most delicious of snacks.

In my day job, I work with a team of #editors whose collaboration I find invaluable. My #blog, however, is all me.

My #perfectionist nature cringes at sharing my #unedited #writings, but here goes...
