Still revisiting some of my #genuary2023 creations, here are four tessellations with color palettes from package {PrettyCols} by @nrennie

nrennie.github.io/PrettyCols/

Two "Autumn" mosaics, and two "Winter" are inspired by the Origami series of @terence

Coded in #Rstats using #ggplot2 and #rayshader. All code and more examples of outputs can be found in my repo:

And that's a wrap for #Genuary! Really proud to have made it through :) I had a blast seeing so much creativity and inspiration day after day!

Thanks to everyone who helped organize, liked, boosted and commented! You all made my January a much brighter and fun month than usual!

And a bonus broken Day 1 because I wanted to post how happy I am to have virtually participate with you!
A year ago, I didn’t know what creative coding was but I saw data science twitter posting to #genuary and wanted to find out what that was all about. I’ve been looking forward to participate this year, and it’s been fun to check in every day to see how folks approach the prompts. #genuary2023

Prompt for Day 29: "Maximalism"

I looked up what "Maximalism" is, and my first take is that it looks like lots of bold colors and patterns, all together. Kinda like hippie style, but not quite. But also, I see photos of rooms with bold colored walls, and clusters of art arranged all together on a wall.

Day 29: Maximalism

For this prompt I looked to Chinese Maximalism, and drew inspiration from Xu Hongming’s “Human Condition One” (人态一).

I call this piece Pluribus unum Multorum chaos.

Coded in #Rstats using #ggplot2 and #ggforce. Code and examples of output can be found in my #genuary2023 repo:

Wow! Only 4 days left in #genuary2023.

My next one, I love, but is an older project.

But my last three? I really love them. I doubt anyone else will.

But I love them because I feel like, among several others this month, these ones are leading me in a new direction...a new space to explore as an artist...and as tools for #dataVis...I don't know. I'm just really happy with the *bones* of them.

I'm almost done with #genuary2023. I'm shocked that I was able to pretty much complete it (one more left) Although one could say I cheated for day 28. I have so much code to go back and clean up to share but also use for future stuff so definitely excited for that. Most likely going to take a break soon though!

Day 26: My kid could have done that

For this prompt I implemented the sinuous meander patterns of Chappell. They resemble the bug-eyed, multi-legged monsters that my kid used to draw when he was little, all spirals and curves with countless appendages.
