@OddDev @archery I've got to say the outdoor #archery season never really stops here in sunny East #Yorkshire. Been doing 60+ yards every week since #Christmas with my trusty #longbow.

Archery went really well today despite a stiff breeze blowing straight into my face. I was going to shoot at 50m but decided to limit myself to 20m.
Bought a secondhand #longbow recently and tomorrow I begin the long and laborious process of tuning it and establishing sight marks for different arrow sets and different distances. Since it’s cold and damp outside I will begin with 20 yards indoors. The bow - by Adie Hayes - is a triple laminate English longbow with a poundage 12lb less than my main bow. I will probably use this for shorter distances and keep my other for 60+ yard shooting. Oh but I love my #archery.
Now our method of practice was to see how quickly and how accurately we could get off 15, 16 arrows in a minute. Now say you've got 5,000 archers, that's 75,000 arrows coming in in a minute. And that's a terrible thing to stand up against.
It's St. Crispin's Day again, but there's no need to write about the battle; whoever is interested, knows it much better than I can describe. I just wanted to point to a man, who wrote above words and said them many times. Who – in 1940, no less! – trained British Home Guard in longbow use, fought bravely and sustained injuries that almost took his eyesight; who made this strangely unnerving illustrations. Actor by trade, Knight by name. Esmond Knight.

Archer's Tale
There is a lady carrying a #longbow on this bus. #SouthLondon
#archery this evening was good until it got dark. I also shot yesterday and Monday as well.
What do you know? Practice really helps. The new arrows I made are performing really well too.
Really good session at the #archery range. Let a couple of people try my #longbow for size and shot my #warbow myself.
I was shooting really well too. I did the thing of showing them how I learned to shoot a powerful bow. The whole lean forward, stick your arse out and arch your back technique. My first shot after talking about it hit smack on the spider. I AM AN ARCHERY GOD!
Yesterday I've participated in my second archery tournament. 2D Field Archery in Bemowo (Warsaw, Poland). At Traditional Hunter (Adult, Men) category, I've ended at 12th place of 14th. 137 points over 432 possible (24 targets, 3 arrows, 0-6 pts each).
