Une soudaine envie de faire un peu de SF en mode rétrofutur/néonoir.
A sudden envy to do some Syfy in a retrofuture/neonoir style.

The details of the "onboard instruments" are based on elements of analog synthesizers, indicating that the "ship" that carries us on this journey into space is the synthwave music of Cosmo Cocktail.

On the front an astronaut looks out of the porthole of his spaceship at a new planet, on the back the same porthole but no planet, the astronaut is gone and the spaceship seems more deteriorated.
Did he have abandoned the ship to inhabit the planet? Or did he end up adrift in space?

Cosmo Cocktail's new album Planetica is finally out and I can show you my cover illustration.
It is the story of a long and difficult space journey in search of new life.

NEW BOOK: Tactical Publishing! I’m very excited to announce my new book “Tactical Publishing, Using Senses, Software, and Archives in the Twenty-First Century”, now published by MIT Press. It has taken many years to research and finalise the book, which I hope will be a solid sequel to "Post-Digital Print", and now it is finally in print. A huge thank you to all the generous people who have supported me over the years (the list is long), especially Ryan Bishop, Jussi Parikka, who along with Scott Rettberg and David Garcia has written very generous praise, my fabulous colleagues Jo Turney and Daniel Cid Moragas at Winchester School of Art - University of Southampton, Sean Cubitt and Doug Sery at MIT Press and Nick Montfort who wrote the beautiful foreword!

Cosmo Palace 2002, a name that once whispered of the future, now stands as a charming anachronism atop this Nagoya apartment building. Built in '88, it's a retrofuturistic relic, a testament to the optimism of yesteryear under the steadfast gaze of today's sky.

You like cyber pop music? 1990s Chinese Ambient Pop, even?...
This is really great stuff, certainly of it's time, but written for a future that never came to be. If you dig on Vapor, Dream or Cyber this will tick a lot of boxes.
I really enjoy it!
Following up to the Petrofuture of NYC and Long Island, here's NYC, New Jersey, and the Hudson River.

Detail of my cover artwork for Cosmo Cocktail's upcoming album Planetica.
The concept is a spaceship that has been wandering in space for a long time looking for a new planet to live on (planeticus in latin is errant, wandering).
I particularly enjoyed painting his dirty, ripped spacesuit.
Can't wait to show you the whole artwork.
