Seems like someone forgot about how big the Spring tides are at this time of year are when desiging this floating pontoon beside the Pointy Bridge on the Clyde in Glasgow. In case you're wondering, the difference between this evening's low and high tides will be 5.03 metres (usually its less than 4 metres).

There was a rather wonderful view down the Clyde in Glasgow just after sunset this evening.

Looking down the Clyde this evening towards the Squiggy Bridge (as the Tradeston Pedestrian Bridge is more commonly known). I love the colourful lights which line this bridge and the way they're reflected in the water below.
Good morning, Glasgow. What a way to start the day!
In the distance is the former Queen's Dock Hydraulic Power Station, which powered the swing bridge at its entrance and is now occupied by the Clydeside Distillery.
The old railway lines which once ran along the edge of the Clyde between Yorkhill Quay and the goods sheds which stretched along its bank. These lines connected to the main railway network near what is now the Exhibition Centre Station in one direction and Partick Station in the other.

Paddleboarders enjoying a trip through Glasgow along the Clyde today. I really don't understand why the Clyde isn't more commonly used for watersports as it's a great space for them, and gives a unique view of the city and its architecture.

The Clyde at sunset can be spectacular, but it's always puzzled me as to why Glasgow seems to make so very little of the amazing potential of its waterfront.
Two thousand year old timbers which once formed part of a Crannog on the foreshore at Erskine near Glasgow. This was one of a series of small communities built on man-made islands constructed from rocks, wood and soil which once dotted the Upper Clyde Estuary. The remains of at least three are still visible to this day.
