On this 9/11, in #gratitude #3Goodthings #ThreeGoodThings

Grateful I returned home to my family 23 years ago.

Grateful that people still remember and reverently pay respects to those who were lost.

Grateful the #WTC was rebuilt, not as it was so to ignore or forget what happened, but bigger and better, acknowledging and in homage to those terrible events.

The world changed that day and not for the better. It’ll never be the same, we must go on.

Photo shows a 911 memorial at the New Hackensack fire house in Wappingers Falls NY. Flags are at half staff beneath an impossibly blue sky ( a sky just like that on 9/11/01) 3000+ American and firefighter flags are planted in the grass surrounding the memorial, symbolizing those who were lost on that day, and who were lost since due to 911 related illness. Two stone pillars cite the date and 'Never Forget". A piece of bent steel from the debris of the WTC is at the centerpiece.

An dem Tag war ich gerade in eine Videothek, der Inhaber hat Nachrichten laufen, und ich suchte einen Film. Nebenbei hörte ich was vom Flugzeug das ins WTC geflogen ist. Mein erster Gedanke das klingt spannend, was für einen Film schaut der sich an. Es dauerte einige Zeit bis ich realisierte das ist kein Film das ist real.

Ce qu’on regroupe sous le vocable de #cryptographie existe depuis les débuts de la civilisation : dissimuler une information.

Au début, on utilisait des principes de #stéganographie : on cachait le message.

- Encres sympathiques au jus de citron

- Messages écrits sur le crâne des messagers, dont on rasait la tête au préalable

- Messages écrits sur des œufs durs

- Messages cachés dans des jpg (#911 #wtc)

Etc…souci : si le message est trouvé, son sens est révélé, ballot.

Not to speak ill of the dead, but Martin Amis once wrote this about the terrorist attacks on the WTC on September 11th and, well … it's nonsense.

I mean really, clearly, obviously impossible, absolutely not possible if you think about the events of that day, or the sizes of the objects described, for even ten seconds.

I'm not trying to speak ill of the dead but it has always puzzled me that he could write something so ridiculous and not get called on it.

For a moment she imagined herself to be on a runway at Kennedy Airport. She looked up to see the glistening underbelly of the 767, a matter of yards above her head. (Another witness described plane number one as "driving" down Fifth Avenue - at 400mph.) There is a modest arch that fronts Washington Square Park; American Airlines Flight 11 from Boston to Los Angeles was flying so low that it had to climb to clear it.”
