I asked a journal editor if they knew in which issue/volume my accepted paper would be published to update proofs that I am currently reviewing and the answer was: 2023 Vol. 2, No. 2. I'm confused, does this mean that papers can be retroactively published in the past?! #AcademicChatter #AcWri

I normally look askance at outlandishly long sentences, but this academic book has one with 261 words and it's more intelligible than many sentences one tenth its length.

Clarity hinges on structure, and the sentence has 11 semicolons creating a precisely executed parallelism.

What's the point of academic writing?

Is it to get promoted, published, have impact, think through complexity, get "the right information in the right place so it can change lives?"
