An interesting view on this evening's bike ride... parallel contrails! That was neat. It may at first look like airliners were flying in formation. What actually happened was they flew at roughly equal intervals on an airway between Portland & Seattle, likely sequenced on approaches to SEA. In between each plane's pass on the airway, the wind blew the previous contrails east (to the right in these views looking north.) #cycling #weather #KPDX #aviation #avgeek #Portland #PNW
I rode out to PDX Airport at sunset today. I bicycled a bit farther on the Columbia River trail, with the segment between Broughton Beach and 33rd Ave being new to me. That segment has views of the Runway 10R final approach. Snow-capped Mt Hood was clearly in view today. #cycling #KPDX #aviation #avgeek #Portland #PNW
