Tradition, believes, rituals have been around for thousands of years, and they will live on in some shape or form for thousands more.
They came to be because we tried to give meaning to the world, because we needed comfort and hope. We needed a firm ground to stand on in the desert of quicksand.
In this time of the year when lights shine bright on the Christmas tree the past becomes alive in our mind. All we left behind, what broke us to shaped us come out to haunt us. Reflecting and contemplating, reminiscing and sometimes missing what we cannot bring back.
We all walk through life hoping for strength to change things we can and accept what we cannot change and in the perfect world that would be enough but in this world hope is a fragile thing and ugliness is often more present than the beauty of things.
Not because it's Christmas eve, but maybe even more so, I'm wishing for all of you to have strength and faith so that hope in goodness and love may prevail. Not by words but by small deeds of goodness the change in the world happens.
May your deeds be filled with love and care for others and for yourself. May in your heart you find forgiveness for the past, and peace and love for the future.
