Here is the human toll of this inhuman behavior

My partner was one of the ‘lucky’ ones in HHS and sent this out on our family chat:“It was a massacre today at HHS. I survived but many didn’t. I am devastated, we all are reeling from the loss of so many good people we worked with, knew and relied on. We lost entire divisions. We cried and huddled and tried to support each other but with little success. We, as in FDA, will not be able to protect public health. Period. I am sorry.”I’m gutted for EVERYONE who didn’t deserve this and I just want to rage….Edit: realized I made it about her when it needs to be about everyone.

Administration for Children and Families Was Gutted Today - Entire Regions GONE.

Massacre at ACF today. Regions 1,2,5,9, and 10 are gone. Just gone. Entire programs, divisions, and teams eliminated from HQ. ACF serves the most vulnerable children in the country, this is CATASTROPHIC. Media needs to step up and cover this. Children and families WILL suffer.

RIF’d Today. I’m numb………………..

This is surreal. Years of service obliterated by evil people who are absolutely clueless how the government really works. I took a 20K pay cut to work for the government after getting tired of being laid off in the private sector again and again. I don’t know whether to take the severance or retire ugh. I can’t even think straight. I’ll look at all the documents attached to the email I received today, tomorrow. I really wish this was an April fools joke. 😢

I was on a call with appointees on Friday. They're laughing about the layoffs.

One made a crack about the Department of Education having plenty of money now. The second, talking to/about HHS said "Run it by your comms team next week, if you have a comms team next week.". Literally laughing at the destruction they are causing. Fuck these people.

Like many of my colleagues, I was just fired. From a financial perspective, it's devastating. I'll have to sell my home. I live in a rural community with economic options. I have no idea what I'll do.But that's not my main concern. What we're seeing now is an assault on the rule of law, democracy, and any sense of checks and balances. If we don't stop it, there will be nothing left to fight for in 2 years.The time to hide and hope you'll be okay is over. We've seen their plan, and it doesn't end here. Wake up. Refuse. Resist.Speak to your family. Speak to your neighbors. Speak to the press. If you don't know how to contact the press, it's easy. They're looking for stories. Go to their website, fine the contact info, and introduce yourself. Or ask your public information personnel. We're all in the same boat.If the fight for the soul of our nation can be won, it's now. Throw before it's too late. I live in a deeply red state, and people are concerned. They didn't expect this. They didn't expect their community members too be harmed. Naive? Who cares. Make allies. Homeless Veterans are going to get screwed

Nobody has talked about this but, the VA uses Grant Per Diem contracts to provide transitional housing for homeless veterans. This includes HUD & VASH vouchers to help pay for apartments. Something tells me these programs are going to have grants cancelled & the program killed to “stop wasteful spending”. A lot of veterans are going to get screwed simply because nobody knows what the GPD program is. My service chief didn’t know what it was about when I took over inspection duties from clinical staff.
