Does anyone know of a #Streaming app with which I could potentially run an endless playlist with queue functionality like a #Shoutcast / #Icecast server but for local LAN so I could just have a media server run through my media collection folder by folder, file by file, outputting the data in a stream which other PCs can tune in on which isn't fucking #Plex or something else proprietary and networked?

Does ActivityPub have any "livestreaming" functionality built in / something that could be integrated? I'm exploring the idea of Subjam as part of the Fediverse. Its audio broad facilities (Icecast2 backend which uses HTTP streaming) might need to be a completely separate arm of my infra..

The core of Subjam fits well with the Fedi model. It encompasses multiple individual music communities/scenes around the world.

Added a new #stream to #RadioReimaden. It's a 24/7 loop of all 138 "speed" tracks of #TouhouMusic arranged by #moonphage / #mocchie. Listen to it at https://reimaden.chaotic.ninja/ (which now shows all active streams) as well as directly at https://reimaden.chaotic.ninja/moonphage-speed ! Or download the tracks at https://moonphage.net/music/speed/ if you want to listen to it offline. :akyuu_headphones:

WOOOW. You guys. LOOK. What a sign. The #music signs are SIGNING.

I step out of emergency dental surgery (a toot for another day), and jump back into learning more about #icecast and #funkwhale. I immediately receive notification from nameless site, which alerts me to my friend leaving this very crucial comment on another friends post regarding #SpotifyWrapped and their underpayment of #musicians:

HOLD TIGHT YOU GUYS. I’M BRINGING THE LA UNDERGROUND LEGENDS.

On Sunday, I went on a technical adventure and ended up spending most of the day trying to get the audio from my phone to play from my home stereo speakers.

I wrote a loooong blog post about the process, but the TL;DR is #Bluetooth, #ffmpeg, #Icecast, #Squeezebox.

It's yet another success story of duct taping various #OpenSource parts together until it works.

NEW ALBUM IS OUT!

#Kamizdat proudly presents

Luka Prinčič + ala pecula release titled "a space process"

These sonic explorations emerge through collage and further processing of recordings from collaborative online installation/improvisation project "a.space" presented last year at "Art Meets Radical Openness" festival @ @servus

Playing around with an idea that is very #1999. An #icecast streaming radio station that continuously plays #law and #legal adjacent content, starting with our #podcast @emp and the news roundup from @icymi_law.

I'm calling it #esqstream and it is ... very much a work in progress.

That said, fellow legal audio content creators, any interest in getting on the rotation? Would-be podcasters want to chat? Just putting some feelers out.

Continued thread

Gave up on my thought of scripting #liquidsoap to provide extra metadata to #icecast because the documentation is just too oblique.

Instead, I've fixed xmp-cli to support using any of its rendering drivers with stdout. I'm also adding a feature to keep looping only until a minimum playtime is reached, for better broadcast of short songs that are meant to be looped a bit.

Trying to put together a setup for using #xmp to #stream #tracker music to an #icecast server. #ezstream is out because it barfs when I tell it to output mp3 for some reason.

Got #liquidsoap working, but holy hell was a it a pain. Besides a horrible scripting language, it *demands* a WAV header from external decoders, so I had to pipe through #ffmpeg just to slap one on lol

Should probably write my own custom #libxmp based decoder that integrates better with liquidsoap though.
