Lidl selling a smart kettle with Wifi and I'm just baffled why this even exists or why anyone would buy it.

I did check what it does and basically you can see the temperature of the water on your phone.

Cleaned and descaled this fancy stainless steel whistling kettle yesterday. As usual, I forgot to take a before picture - rest assured, it was plenty grubby and had a nice white coating of limescale inside.

Bit of Astonish (clay based abrasive compound) for the outside and citric acid for the limescale and it's shiny again.

Probably only going to get used when the power is out!

Yoshi P's supposed "time bubble" has finally popped for me.

Supposedly, Yoshi P has decided that all of #FFXIV happens in a #time bubble so that the #Calamity happened five years ago whether we're in A Realm Reborn, #Heavensward, #Stormblood, #Shadowbringers, or #Endwalker.

Patch 2.2 (part of the post-#ARR era) introduces a new step in the creation of the ARR #relic #weapons: the #Zodiac Weapons. In the #quest "Up in Arms," the character of #Jalzahn is introduced, an alchemist arrived from distant Radz-at-Han to improve your Zodiac #weapon further.

This is the first time Jalzahn and #Gerolt ever meet.

Patch 2.2 came out on March 27, 2014.

Patch 3.2 (part of the post-Heavensward era) introduces a new quest named "Kettle to the Mettle," which completes construction of a special "relic" #kettle made by both Gerolt and Jalzahn working together. During that quest, as Gerolt and Jalzahn finally complete the masterwork kettle, Drake comes in to reveal that the order for the kettle took so long to fulfill that the client cancelled their order.

"When was this order placed?" #Drake is asked. Drake then reveals that it was placed two years before. Gerolt is justifiably upset because he will no longer make the #gil he had planned to make from the sale of that kettle.

During an argument that breaks out between Jalzahn and Gerolt, Gerolt winds up stating the following:

"Hold on a minute! It's all comin' back to me now! This order came in 'round the time you barged in here, rantin' and ravin' about yer godsforsaken Zodiac Weapon, distractin' me from me work!"

Patch 3.2 came out on February 23, 2016.

That's right. According to #canon #lore, the time between Patches 2.2 and 3.2 is approximately two years. ​

So, if you're an RPer, and you #RP that time passes in the land of #Eorzea at the same rate as it does on the world where we, the players, reside, you've been doing it right. That is backed up by lore, and it has been for seven years, even if I only learned about this today.
