A week (or more) of solid rain had waterfalls flowing at a torrential speed. It both cleared out old log jams and created new ones.

After posting a number of less colorful photographs recently, today I thought I would reflect back on the beautiful fall colors we had along the Animas River last year.
For #MountainMonday: A panorama of the Tatoosh Range in Mount Rainier National Park.
A few other photos from that evening:

#ThrowbackThursday to one of my favorite images taken on a trip to the #Canadian #RockyMountains back in 2021.
I've re-processed it now, after having lost the original edit. Thankfully I still have the RAW file!
It became a favorite mostly because of the setting I shot it in. A quiet moment in a very busy trip that became a moment to relax mentally and enjoy the evening breeze.

Sunset light over a gigantic Tor. My favourite part of photographing here, other than the incredible formation itself, is the abundance of angles to choose from.
Up close with waves at Bombo Quarry. This morning there were a couple of other photographers at the same spot and we all agreed to slowly inch closer to find the safest spot.
For #MountainMonday: A photo from way back in 2013: wildflowers and a view of the Tatoosh Range from Mazama Ridge in Mount Rainier National Park, Washington State, USA. While Rainier gets all the attention, I almost preferred photographing the Tatoosh during my trips down there.
A new image! - I've finally started editing again recently. This shot was taken in a local park near me. I've tried to photograph this spot before, but with less than great results. I've wanted to capture the winter hoar frost here, but, often haze from the lake has resulted in smudged details. I finally got a sharp image this past year during an unusually long cold snap that allow the lake to freeze over.
A very nice sunset that turned into an evening storm. Busy places like this aren’t my favourite to photograph, solitude in nature is much preferable, but it was worth the crowds to see.
I have very little to say today, but wanted to share an image. So, instead, I leave this quote.
"Objectivity is of the very essence of photography, its contribution and at the same time its limitation." - Paul Strand
For #MountainMonday - Mount Shuksan reflecting in a tarn with just a bit of sunset light still touching the top. This area in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest in Washington State, USA, is a bit of a cliche location, but it is hard to pass up 360° scenery like this.
Somewhere in the Middle-Earth, I mean New Zealand. The peach colour and how it barely touches the peak is my favourite thing about this photo.
Something about how someone's sudden appearance affects your life line.
It's funny how we will sometimes pass by a location a dozen times and not give it a second thought until the right light or conditions present.
While snowshoeing last week in the #Vancouver #Mountains I came to a spot freshly covered in snow, that I've never seen without its usual trail. I would never have thought to take a photo here had it not been for the fresh snowfall covering all indication that a path laid here.
One of my favorite moments of my entire life- witnessing this insane sunrise from 14k ft. on the summit of North Eolus in 2011.
Historically this pool was a place to cool down on the way up the mountain. It’s easy to see why you’d want to relax here.
This is my #Introduction post. I'm an Australian who's lived in the UK now since 1978, married to a British woman. We have one daughter and live in the East Midlands. Since retiring from a career in IT, I've done a lot of #Printmaking and, for the last couple of years, #Painting, which I'm still trying to figure out.
