Decent local article about the Grapes of Wrath #buhurt tournament we attended two weeks ago. Mountain Run Winery, 5 minutes from our house, has plenty of space to host numerous amazing events all year, from weddings, live music & reunions to buhurt, #LARP, craft fairs, and even a viking & mead fest (and yes, the winery also makes its own very good mead as well as beers).

Google DocsRegistration: LauteillaYou have been chosen to participate in a citizen’s assembly. The purpose of the assembly is to reach a balanced view on how climate change affects Finnish people and give the Finnish State guidance on what kind of view to take regarding it. Who are you representing? This online larp asks what kind of communication is possible in social media. What is needed for participation? – Participating on-site in the starting and ending meetings, and online in between. The game lasts from Monday 21.4. to Wednesday 23.4. There is a meeting 18:00–20:00 on Monday and 18:00–20:00 on Wednesday, when you need to be present in person. Otherwise, the larp is played remotely. You also need your own device (mobile phone or computer) and an internet connection. Do I need to be present online all the time? – No. Your character can browse social media every now and then, based on your own schedules. Is it difficult to use the larp's online platform? -- During the starting meeting we will check that everyone has created a character and begun playing online. The game masters also are available during the larp if any problems arise. What if I need other kind of help during the larp? – The game masters will be available during the larp. Is the any safer space guidelines in this larp? – In the starting meeting we agree on the rules for playing and communicating personal boundaries during the larp. In this registration form we also ask what kind of play the participants are expecting: based on the responses the game masters will align the "common style of play" in the starting meeting. In this registration form there is also an option to ask for a topic or theme to be categorically excluded from the larp.

Since it is super hard to get some nice pictures during a Larp I had a shoot last year in fall. I only have worn this gown once (for a Larp) so far. I would live to bring it to a ball. But for regular use it is by far too impractical.

I need to get into live action roleplay. Anyone know any fantasy #LARP groups on the SW side of #PDX that actually still exist? The only ones I found last I checked took a break for the pandemic and never came back.

[Edit: Okay, maybe "southwest side of Portland" is a little too narrow. At this point I'd take any presently-existing fantasy LARP group within an hour drive of SW Portland.]

Last year, I attended Disco Elysium themed LARP, called 97 Poets of Revachol. I loved it so much that I want to play again in different role - and I will, because this year, in August, there are two more runs and they still have a few places left - including the old teacher Tony Eclissi I played. I personally think the character is a really good choice for a first time player like I was - so if you're considering to play the LARP, even as first time LARP player, and thinking about character of Tony Eclissi, you can drop me a DM for details 😻

Until then, my crafting field was foam weapon replicas for LARP, swordcombat sparring and cosplay, something I start leaving behind me the more I was fall in love with leather
