The Signal & Shield Camp Initiative changes that. By equipping camps with NOAA Weather Radios, a direct and automatic link to the National Weather Service, we’re providing a lifesaving tool, not a luxury. Just like a smoke detector warns of fire, these radios deliver real-time alerts, day or night, even during power outages, ensuring warnings are heard when seconds matter. And this campaign goes beyond devices. Each camp will also receive training and educational materials to help staff interpret alerts, respond quickly, and foster a lasting culture of preparedness and safety.Today, the PSEMA Foundation, alongside our partners at the American Camp Association, the American Logistics Aid Network, and Midland Radio, is proud to officially announce the launch of the Signal & Shield Camp Initiative.
