There has been a mass spam attack involving gore and nudity. This is now a very serious situation and it is clear that something has to be done to stop this from happening. The new messages might be from a different, psychopathic spammer. ### What we decided to do about it To have better control of this situation, we decided to lock down the community, except for the comment section on this very post. (Please let me know if I’ve missed a post) ### Rules - Please refrain to further spread the newest spam image, especially uncensored versions of it. - The “It’s my girlfriend!”-joke is long gone. Be respectful, stop using it. ### Going forward Our main goal now is to stop the spread of spam on Lemmy. This seems like a major problem in Lemmy’s concept, so we need to work together to create a working solution to the spam and potential defacing of users.

A Polish girl with a digital kick

From Toronto’s streets, where the city lights glow,
To the Fediverse, where the cool nerds go.
She posts with flair, she posts with grace,
A cyber queen in a vast webbed space.

No algorithms shape her feed,
Just pure connection, thought, and need.
From Mastodon she spreads her wings,
On decentralized dreams, she sings.

Her roots go back to lands of old,
Where legends whispered, stories told.
Yet here she stands, with pixels bright,
Typing fast into the night.

With every post, a spark ignites,

Shoutout to the #infosec folks, if you’ve got a moment. What’s your collective take on the #NicoleTheFediverseChick stuff lately? Bear in mind my tech cred peaked with COBOL & NATURAL with a smattering of MVS-370, & some HTML tacked on. My guess is somebody’s bot is trawling for open servers, making an account and sending the spam until a mod or admin boots the account. (1/3)
