Time to quit #procrastinating

As I am getting older, I have come to the conclusion that the trick is not to stop #procrastinating - which would require more willpower than I have to spare - but to procrastinate in a way that will benefit _one_ of my longer-term goals, even if it's not the one I ought to work towards right now.

Because #HootinTootinTuesday almost slipped past me...

Both; prefer standalones. In fact all three of my current standalones, plus my latest first draft, have come about while procrastinating on writing sequels.

I currently have no excuse not to resume my sequel WIP due out in November

ETA: YES I DO! Sorting out the POD versions of my existing books…take that, sequel WIP!

I have no short-term project for which this would be useful, but I _do_ have quite a few other tasks which are considerably more urgent!

I hate packing and moving, and I should be used to it by now, I counted and I have moved house roughly 17 times already, excluding childhood moves where I didn't have to pack. Instead of getting better with practice it just seems to get worse The positive thing this time is that I kept the moving boxes from the past 3 moves #Recycle #Procrastinating

Can you make it smaller?
Achieve already a "tiny" part of it?

That sense of achievement can unlock more mental energy to tackle the rest.

#Freelance #writers: There's a pop culture trope that a freelance writer is always a #procrastinator, turning things in at the last minute.

And yet... I have ALWAYS found that to be true? All my writers friends talk about their last minute deadlines?

For instance: I currently have two articles due today. So instead of working on them, I'm here on Mastodon. Ha!

So question: Are there any writers that are do stuff AHEAD of time? I'm super curious.

I like #writing, but prefer #procrastinating. Fan of #AudioDrama, #BBC, #ITV, #Radio4, #Gin, #Animals (esp #Cats), hot beverages, and #Vegetarian food.
