🇨🇦 A federal by-election has been called for Dec 16 in Langley-Cloverdale, #BritishColumbia.

The #Conservative candidate Tamara Jansen is a prominent anti-abortion activist who's a senior member of ARPA #Canada - a political arm of Reformed Christian churches - which says its mission is to “bring a biblical perspective to our civil authorities." Ms. Jansen claims science supports the idea that the Earth was created in six days.

The UK Supreme Court has just ruled that a local council should have considered the full climate impact of burning oil from new wells - a landmark decision which could put future UK oil and gas projects in question.

Under planning law the assumption has always been that only the impacts from constructing the wells and not the use of the final oil.

Cars that Sadiq #Khan (Mayor of #London) promised to donate to #Ukraine are languishing in a #Surrey field after an event organised to send them to #Kyiv was cancelled.

Pictured on a farm near #Dorking, the cars and vans given by Transport for London to the charity British-Ukrainian Aid (BUA) remain in the #UK for now.

The charity previously claimed in social media posts that its first convoy was scheduled to leave for Ukraine on April 11.
