Imago 15.49 CEST BTP announces change of policy on searching trans people in custody after supreme court ruling British Transport Police (BTP) said trans women in custody will be searched from now on by male omcers, in a change to their in light of yesterday's supreme court ruling. The new policy appears to apply regardless of whether the person has undertaken gender reassignment surgery. PA Media reports a spokesperson said: Under previous policy, we had advised that someone with a gender recognition certificate (GRC) may be searched in accordance with their acquired sex. However as an interim position while we digest yesterday's judgement, we have advised our officers that any same sex searches in custody are to be undertaken in accordance with the biological birth sex of the detainee. We are in the process of reviewing the implications of the ruling and will consider any necessary updates to our policies and practices in line with the law and national guidance.

Here’s an example from the #Guardian Live evening summary on the #SpringStatement:

“The #Labour party is the party” of work, #Reeves says. More than 1,000 people a day are qualifying for personal independence payments (Pip), Reeves says. “It is a waste of their potential and a waste of their futures.”

Hmmm…#Tories broke the #NHS and social care, and now Labour wonder why so many people need Pip…and if they take it away from them, that’ll get them into work. Completely unhinged and cruel.

Unless I misunderstood the phrases ‘leave means leave’, ‘Better off out’ etc. unless I misunderstood the point of Richard Tice when he founded the ‘leave means leave’ pro Brexit group ….. then not being part the EU & any of it’s institutions was what he wanted. Unless he’s full of shit of course

For me (and I am not #disabled and have no disabled family members), Labour's vicious cuts to #disability benefits are a violation that I can't align with.

I voted #Labour in the last election, and celebrated joyously when they kicked the vile Tories out. But it's increasingly apparent — with this, and with attacks on health workers — that they really are just #Tories With Red Ties.

Labour is dead. I'm voting #Green from now on.
