If your country were found to be the 'Happiest Country in the World,' how would you react?
Your yearly reminder that the World Happiness Report doesn’t measure happiness as in “happy, happy, joy, joy!!”.
The actual measure is the following:
"The top of the ladder (10) represents the best possible life for you and the bottom of the ladder (0) represents the worst possible life for you.
On which step of the ladder would you say you personally feel you stand at this time?"
Regards from Finland, again the top ranked country
Finland again tops global happiness rankings.
The World Happiness Report 2025 ranks Finland as the happiest country globally for the eighth consecutive year.
Released Thursday by the University of Oxford's Wellbeing Research Centre, the report also places Denmark, Iceland and Sweden in the top four, the US falls to lowest position ever.
What happens when your country keeps topping happiness ranking? My latest newsletter post, Debating Happiness & Scientific Results.
With a collection of evidence that caught my eye this week, including a systematic review on solving cold cases, one on who participates in clinical trials with surprising results, & a study on data sharing.
