I want to commission a logo for
Superior Magpie Press
(doing business in Superior, Colorado)
This logo will appear on the website, other marketing materials, and on the covers and spines of books, so it should be sized and shaped accordingly. I have not sold any books yet, so I can't afford a full marketing design, but I expect to pay professional rates for the logo.

Interested artists, please provide rates and pointers to your work

Boosts appreciated

@Cheeseness This was my friend Grey (yup, creative name, right?), who stayed that colour for over a year. She was very friendly and used to sing songs to my cat, as well as nibbling the cat's tail when she had the change.

Western Australian magpies start out this colour and then the grey changes to black. Males have a solid white back and the feathers on the females' backs are black with white edges. They are also larger than the Tasmanian ones, with longer beaks.

This is the face of someone who needs to learn the important adage "don't start none, won't be none!"

Today she went into the back yard and found a juvenile magpie. I don't know if it was already dead when she found it (hopefully?), but there are now two older magpies who have lived in our backyard for at least the 18 months we've been here, who think she's responsible.

I picked up the body and buried it, have put flowers on the site, and I left a bowl of dried mealworms out under the tree to hopefully settle the score somewhat.

It was actually really sad.. they were obviously grievi and sitting in the tree watching the body and cawing.

I know she's just a dog being a dog, and she's actually not aggressive at all but sometimes the dog instincts are loud.

I don't know how tomorrow is going to go. Magpies have long memories.
