Sears offered #liveanimals through its mail-order catalogs from 1956 to 1964. However, versions of those catalogs — possibly including an alleged 1956 Sears Christmas book featured in popular #TikTok videos — did not include animals for sale.

Snopes · Sears Catalogs Once Sold Monkeys, Donkeys and Other Animals?"My parents must have torn out the pet pages. I don't remember them," a TikTok user said.

My horses and ponies from when I was a teen. The photo is from around 1987. They were all sold when I started university. I wonder if any of them are still alive? It's possible that one or two are, but I know for a fact that two died. I miss them all, except for maybe the quarterhorse mare. She was a mean one.

On the left is my pony Dolly. She was ancient and eventually died because of her cribbing habit (swallowing air to get high). I took a lot of riding lessons, but she's the one who taught me how to ride.

Behind her is Cocoa, my sister's pony. Cocoa was young and could potentially still be alive. I hope she is.

The horse in the middle is Kitty. She was an ill tempered quarterhorse.

Behind her is Bianca, a quarterhorse/Standardbred filly. A neighbour bought her, and unfortunately, she died because a girl rode her hard, then fed her green apples and gave her cold water to drink while she was still hot. Anyone who knows anything about horses know why Bianca died.

On the right is Glenngow Ranger, aka Ranger. He was a retired Standardbred racehorse. He adored children, and ended up going to a group home. I hope the foster kids treated him well. I know he would have been kind to them.
