Chris Packham Forces UK Government to Reconsider Green Pledge

Rishi Sunak announced in 2023 that he would drop green policies from the UK’s Carbon Budget Delivery Plan (CBDP), including:

  • a transition away from petrol, and diesel free cars and vans by 2030.
  • the phasing out of new and replacement gas boilers by 2035.
  • a ban on installing fossil fuel heating in homes not connected to the gas grid from 2026.
  • the policy to require all privately rented homes to be EPC band C or better for all new tenancies from 2025 and all tenancies from 2028.

Chris Packham legally challenged this abandonment of green policies.

A settlement has been agreed between Packham and the now-Labour UK Government in which it has confirmed that the previous government had acted unlawfully, and that it will reconsider its CBDP green agenda by May 2025.

He's already alienated all the actual #Labour voters for his role in the #CorbynCoup, disaafected #ToryScum is all he has left. Nobody likes him, and if #RishiSunak was even borderline politically aware, he'd never win an actual election. Fuck the #ToryScum and #ToryScumLite parties.

Also, applicable to #Biden / #USpol, you can only tell people for so long that the other guy will be worse whilst still not improving things for so long before they get bored of the threat.

Another piece of crap computer programme sold to the government on the promise it would catch cheats, remind you of anything ? Perhaps if the government spent as much on creating a fair system, gave people jobs investigating suspicions instead of relaying on a poxy algorithm things might work
