At the end of a hot, humid and noisy day in Tokyo, a little decompression in the shape of this video from my recent Europe trip. This was the (simple but pleasant) view from the balcony of our room at “Urdlwirt”, my go-to hotel and restaurant outside my birth town of Graz, Austria. Be sure to turn on sound 🎶🐦 - to my fellow Tokyoites, this should be like a miniature spa treatment for your ears.

An interesting year.

You almost certainly know how old you are. Subtract that number from your birth year, so you can see the birth year of someone who, in the year you were born, was as old as you are now.

Sobering, I find.

Update: it's handy to have a name for that year. Call it one's "back year." Right now, my back year is 1857. — The Wife suggests calling it one's Benjamin Button year.
