One more set of tiny cars. I have always struggled to draw vehicles (I still have a hard time with the wheels as you can see) but I don't know how or when it seems that I've been learning to draw them.... and it's very relaxing!
I was going to continue the theme of British-badged Chinese EVs today with a post on MG, and I’ll come back to that - but yesterday, both @niavy and @DigitalDruid mentioned the original ‘woody’ Mini Countryman/Traveller estate. I think I’ve posted the red car before (seen at The Great British Car Journey in Derbyshire) but the white car is an Italian Innocenti ‘woody’, which I suspect is a rare beast (snapped at Techno Classica Essen, 2013).
Plenty of comments on the weight of yesterday’s Eletre versus previous Lotuses. I’ll return to that subject in a few days but today we continue with the theme of Chinese-British EVs, with the electric Mini Cooper, seen here at Thruxton Circuit at the SMMT’s southern test day. Although it looks the same as the current petrol model, the electric Mini is made on a completely different platform in China - but it will also be built in the UK from 2026.
This trash bashed boat model is looking pretty damn cute after the primer coat. So excited to paint this thing.
This is for the table top war game Scabz. You get a sardine tin or two and then use that as the base for a trash/scratch built model of a boat in whatever style you like. Quite like how my first stab at this is coming along.

The Morris Mini Minor
Inspired by the 1956 Suez fuel crisis, the Morris Mini Minor changed the face of economy motoring. The initial reaction was lukewarm - only 116,000 Minis were sold in 1960. But now the model is regarded as the most successful all-British car ever.
Even in #1960s #Britain there were attempts to be more #gender #inclusive (this book, sold by a #drivingschool (which still exists today) is clearly intended to encourage lasses (as well as lads) to be involved with the #maintenance of their #cars
(but don't use a hose fed brush (these relics are still sold today!) on modern car paint with clearcoat, it will swirl it)
Today we had eggs for breakfast,
As is tradition.
Then we had a look outside on the scaffolding,
To examine the brickwork we need to repair.
Found that it was wet and miserable outside,
And I was too exhausted to work.
Decided to run away,
So went to Bygone Times.
Had a look at a few aisles of stuff,
Then had lunch.
Looked around the rest of the antiques centre,
But I didn't find anything I wanted to buy.
Came home,
And checked on Mum.
Sorted out my car music,
Removing stuff I don't enjoy while driving.
Caught up on a few videos,
And watched a bit of TV.
It's still early,
But I am so tired.

Some shots from my show at The Helper Mini in Utah. Electric Horses Forever has three horses running, with a few more out of the gallery. You can blink them if your near the gallery by joining the "Pink Pony Club" wifi network, and it's "captive portal" even works on iphones and androids.
The three of them should make a nice pink glow in the gallery day and night, and light up a little piece of the town of Helper.
The horses have made it out west!
