Yeah, that is why my #RepairCafe tool box is so big! And has recently gotten bigger.
Q3: @MakersHour
What other ways do you use to keep in touch with the Maker or creative community?
A3: I think mostly here, but also I am in a WhatsApp (yeah, I know) group for Repair Cafe folks in Greater Manchester we share chat, and knowledge that helps with the #RepairCafe stuff that comes up.
I am also still with the #WorkingInWood community woodwork group that I helped set up way back in 2017, and we meet up on Thursday mornings at the Community Workshop.
Then there is the Miniatures group that meets up in the evening on the second Monday of the month.

Had a great time fixing things at @tog Repair Café today
Radios, mixers, headphones, to name a few. Learning and sharing to bring stuff back to life
#RightToRepair #RepairCafe
Huge thanks to our volunteer fixers at yesterday’s Repair Café at @tog, which was supported by @DublinMaker !
We had 55 items in for repair, from radios and kettles to toys and mobiles.
You're all legends!

@Maker_of_Things Wow, you were busy! I had a shirt with a partly detached cuff, a slight resizing of a dress, and two ribbon ties to resew onto a dressing gown.
I also resorted the sewing table's stash of cottons, buttons, needles and random fabric offcuts into a shiny new drawer stack so now we can actually Find Stuff Quickly and without stabbing our fingers on a lurking pin!
@Maker_of_Things How did your #repaircafe go today?
Great #RepairCafe in #Swansea this morning. On our sewing table we repaired two coats, a dressing gown, a dress, a shirt and a plush toy dachshund!
I was surprised at how busy the room was - really encouraging to see people engaging with the café idea

At Repair Cafe today I worked on:
A carpet head for a stick vacuum cleaner - it was twisted and jammed. Lube and unjam, easy one to start.
An Evolution 9" angle grinder - A gearbox bearing had exploded, causing the motor brushes to destroy themselves, and then burning out the motor control pack. Scrapped.
A Kenwood Chef - the PCB burnt out. The client found one online and get the replacement for next time.
A fence paint sprayer - the spray plungers her stuck with a bit of paint and some rust. Cleaned and freed up so all working.
Secateurs - Needed a quick adjustment, sharpen, and lube.
Hedge and lawn edging shears - both needed a clean, adjustment, and a sharpen.
A JCB SDS drill - no rotary drive. Everything looks ok, but difficult to see the motion inside the gearbox due to all the grease and it needing to be assembled to test. Out of time, so back to it next month.
Mae'r Arth Trwsio yn barod ar gyfer #CaffiTrwsio.

#GoodMorning everyone. We're going to #RepairCafe today, in Levenshulme. I wonder what I will have to fix. And, I've put a chicken in the slow cooker for dinner. There'll be roast potatoes and everything.
#GoodMorningWorlds
We are off to Levenshulme Repair Cafe this morning.
But first I need to put away the battery charger from Scout, and load up Bugsy.
Later I might be back at work again do paint over the repairs I did yesterday.
Today I woke up groggy,
After a bad night of weird dreams.
I did laundry,
And then went to meet Sue at work.
It must have been National Trash Your Church day yesterday,
The place was a tip!
Went trade shopping at B&Q,
Then went into work.
Did some repairs to damaged wall panels,
That was a lot of filling and sanding.
Put Scout's battery on charge,
We've mostly been driving in Bugsy.
Been chilling out with a book,
It's kinda nice not being online all the time (Sorry, it's not personal.).
We're at Levenshulme #RepairCafe in the morning,
Best get some sleep then.
Amser gwely,
#NosDa.
I've decided to create an account here for the Rugby #RepairCafe. Hopefully it'll have been authorised by the #MastodonApp.UK team by tomorrow afternoon and then I can start posting. I think that a separate account might just be enough of a push to get me off my arse and post regularly again.

@Maker_of_Things @mike @MakersHour@cupoftea.social @makershour@a.gup.pe @iFixit I'd be interested to know what you did, because I ended up jimmying a jammed slow cooker crock out of the enclosure at our last #repaircafe with the only thing I could get in between the ceramic and the aluminium sleeve - STANLEY BLADES. Luckily I didn't slip!
