#Romney grew irritated. “Yeah, but I’ve got 25 grandkids!” he said, throwing up his hands. “How am I going to protect 25 grandkids, 2 great-grandkids? I’ve got 5 sons, 5 daughters-in-law—it’s like, we’re a big group.” This was clearly a problem to which he’d given serious thought, & realized there was no solution. I lived to regret that vote when that man supported an anti-LGBTQ initiative in which I knew he himself did not believe, because he was one of those "moderate" Republicans "only" interested in tax cuts for the rich and not in policing the lives of others.
Vote with extremists, you're showing that you yourself are an extremist, no matter what you profess to be otherwise.
"Good" Republicans are rarer than unicorns, in my experience.
Oliver Willis is another commentator who is not buying the St. Mitt narrative with its meme about mythic "good Republicans" who seem, for many of us, as rare as unicorns.
I'm 73 years old and have voted since 1968. I have cast one Republican vote in all those years, a vote of gratitude for a man who gave a donation to a struggling HBCU at which I was an administrator.
