So today I met with an executive from the International Association of Forensic Nurses—an organization I’m collaborating with. I was told that they were receiving overwhelming communications from their 6,000+ membership of nurses unable to access information on #sexualhealth and #traumainformed care. My Mastadon buddy @lavaeolus was able to upload access to important #CDC documents through #safeguardingresearch

This place really is making change. #mastadon #HoosierMast

I'm currently working on an article about how kink (and especially foot fetishes) can reduce STI transmission rates. I'm looking to talk to folks who have deliberately chosen to engage in kink/sex not involving penetration as a way to reduce their STI transmission risk.

If this is you and you’re up for answering some questions for me, please email quinn@quinnrhodes.co.uk.

(If this isn't you, I'd really appreciate it if you would share this toot!)

1) AIs are taking over the "search" experience.

2) AIs are expen$ive. Corporate tools with #pornocalypse designed in.

3) AI #search is vanishing #internet #porn. Online #adult stuff will still exist, but undiscoverable, unsearchable, unmonetizable, #shadowbanned everywhere. SUPER marginalized.

4) They've already showed us: to corporate #AI, porn includes #gay stuff, #trans existence, #sex education, #sexual #health, anything #queer or #kinky.

Ouff, this is terrible! Tons of PFAS chemicals in some brands of condoms and lubes. The skin can absorb these chemicals, and especially that sensitive stuff down there is a terrible place to expose to these chemicals.

Be warned, buy other brands! theguardian.com/environment/ar

The #UnitedKingdom is such a fucking mess. The fact that #SexualHealth tests are so hard to come by or obtain is insane to me. We seem to have given responsibility of sexual health to a bunch of private providers, who sparsely cover certain areas, leaving accessible at home test kits out of reach for many people. The only alternative? To book an appointment 2 weeks in advance with your local clinic.

I despise of this country so much. #LGBT #LGBTQIA #Sex

Got a sore throat. Partner thinks it's because I made out with one of my dates. We go into yellow alert and started talking about getting vaccinations and STI checks. It's kinda difficult to find information specific for the non-monogamous.

So asking
#Polyamorous #EthicalNonMonogamy #RelationshipAnarchy #Polyamory #RelationshipAnarchist #SexualHealth #SexPositive folks, what are the preventative health measures and checks I should do before I start getting sexually active with multiple people?

(Apart from fundamental things like using condoms, oral dams, contraceptive pills and the like)

I’m so pleased this paper is finally published! It was a journey to get here, so it’s a huge relief to have it out in the wild. We examined STI testing in 715 health assessments among young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people attending ACCHS doi.org/10.1071/SH23107

CSIRO PUBLISHINGIntegrating testing for sexually transmissible infections into annual health assessments for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people: a cross-sectional analysisBackground In the context of an expanding syphilis epidemic, we assessed the integration of sexually transmissible infection (STI) testing within annual health assessments for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people aged 16–29years in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services between 2018 and 2020.Methods Using routinely collected electronic medical record data from a national sentinel surveillance system (ATLAS), we performed a cross-sectional analysis to calculate the proportion of assessments that integrated any or all of the tests for chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis, and HIV. We used logistic regression to identify correlates of integration of any STI test. Results Of the13 892 assessments, 23.8% (95% CI 23.1, 24.6) integrated a test for any STI and 11.5% (95% CI 10.9, 12.0) included all four STIs. Of assessments that included a chlamydia/gonorrhoea test, 66.9% concurrently included a syphilis test. Integration of any STI test was associated with patients aged 20–24years (OR 1.2, 95% CI 1.1–1.4) and 25–29years (OR 1.1, 95% CI 1.0–1.2) compared to 16–19years and patients residing in very remote (OR 4.2, 95% CI 3.7–4.8), remote (OR 2.4, 95% CI 2.1–2.8), and regional areas (OR 2.5, 95% CI 2.2–2.8) compared to metropolitan areas. There was no association with patient sex. Conclusions Integration of STI testing into annual health assessments for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people was higher in remote areas where disease burden is greatest. Integration is similar in men and women, which contrasts with most studies that have found higher testing in women.
