It is precisely this endless discussion with people who have hardly any idea about something that has prompted me to stop contributing to Wikipedia. I'd rather invest my time in Openstreetmap, Wikivoyage and Wikidata.

Wikivoyage by Kiwix v3.4.4 is out!
Includes Oct 2024 English Wikivoyage
Critical bugfixes for mobile-html API issues
Available for:
* Linux (incl. ARM64)
* Windows 7-11
* UWP (Win10/11, Xbox, Win10M)
Mac users: you can install the PWA (pwa.kiwix.org) and download Wikivoyage in-app.
Important: if articles are blank, ensure "Open all headings" is set in Display settings (it's the default). Caused by ZIM format change.
I'm thrilled to share that a tool I co-developed, View it!, won the #Wikimedia Coolest Tool Award at #Wikimania 2024!
Coolest Tool Award: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Coolest_Tool_Award
View it!: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/View_it!_Tool
View it! is a suite of tools to help users on Wikipedia and its sister sites discover freely licensed media. It includes a user script that injects a gallery of relevant photos at the top of articles across all Wikimedia sites (#Wikipedia, #Wikidata, #Wikivoyage, etc.). It also provides a web portal (https://view-it.toolforge.org/?q=Q192272) to search for media by Wikidata ID, as well as an API that simplifies querying structured data on Commons. On Wikidata, View it! has helped users add images to over 5,000 items to date.

Started my first new page on #Wikivoyage, the #Wikipedia like travel guide. It is for Sauvie Island north of Portland.
When I’m stuck waiting for something, I like to browse random pages from #Wikivoyage. This set of phrases from the #Malayam language escalates a bit quickly
@ill_logic We have two apps based on Kiwix JS in the Windows app store, look at https://apps.microsoft.com/store/search?publisher=Kiwix ... But still nothing based on Kiwix Desktop. #Wikivoyage #WikiMed
For the week of 2023-01-30, the #MapPromptMonday is about making #FlowMaps, so I took one of the books I love when I was a kid: "Around the world in 80 days" by #JulesVerne, and made a map of the route taken by the protagonists, using data from #WikiVoyage.
