After backing it in like 2023, I've finally had my copy of Molly House (Wehrlegig Games) delivered and had an initial test play with friends.

It's based around the old Molly Houses of 18th century London (think gay bars-come-drag ballroom vibe). You play as Mollies trying to throw parties to generate individual and community joy while avoiding the Society for the Reformation of Manners (a villainous name I've always thought worthy of cinematic adaptation ever since I first studied this period) trying to raid their houses and send us to the gallows.

The art in this game is gorgeous, but what I've really enjoyed is the implicit tension between competitive and cooperative game styles. You win ostensibly via your individual joy, but that means nothing if the community doesn't survive when the Society raids all four houses. You need to work together to maximise community joy and ward off Society. Yet you never know exactly who to trust as some players may turn informant to avoid the hangman's noose.

Omg so someone wrote a musical about bigots trying to cancel Drag Queen Story Hour, and it's debuting in Glens Falls NY! On June 6. On account of the story is about the Rockwell Falls Public Library in Lake Luzerne, NY, and will star Scarlett Sagamore, the original cancelled drag queen. I think this is a great way to deal with the confusion and trauma of such a series of events.

Indeed, they're still casting so spread the word, thespians!

But there was Musk holding court telling the Senate confirmed members of the cabinet what they need to cut from their budget. This is what a plutocracy looks like—which is a government by the wealthy, for the wealthy. None of Musk’s proposed costs include the nearly $40 billion in government contracts he has benefited from as The Washington Post reported Wednesday. And the massive cuts being demanded are simply intended to justify a tax cut for Musk and his fellow oligarchs.

Police attempted to facilitate a hate crime at a bar in Woodland, CA where Proud Boys attacked a drag story hour.

They held the door open to allow the hate group through, when the attackers were met with several blasts of pepper spray from inside the bar.

The cops holding the door were forced to walk away, covered in mace.
