In this moment of global capital, the capitalist classes are mobilizing behind proto fascist forces. In Argentina, India, Hungary, Germany, the Netherlands,
Italy, and France right-wing forces have gained ground.
It is precisely at this conjuncture that it is
essential to understand the convergence of finance capital with militarism behind the fascist forces in the United States.
There have been numerous predictions on the spectre of fascism in the USA with politicians such as Liz Cheney noting that the USA was sleepwalking into authoritarianism. Robert Kagan has charted how, "in just a few years, we have gone from being relatively secure in our democracy to being a few short steps, and a matter of months, away from the possibility of dictatorship."
Will the authoritarian pronouncements
now being made in the Presidential election campaign mature to full blown fascism? Will the activities of the white supremacists generate a deeper rift in the US military apparatus? What should
be the planning and program of progressive forces?
The presentation analyzes the objective conditions of liberalism and imperialism evaluating how the contradictions of the military management of the international system by US capital can mature into
full blown fascism in the USA. In arguing for an Intersectional popular front from below, my presentation will zero in on the short term, medium term and long-term objectives of the anti-fascist
forces.
This presentation argues for intellectual work that will educate the youth on how to define tactics and strategies to achieve the objective of defeating
fascism.
As scholars how can we work to a conclusion of mobilization, organization, and vigilance to oppose white supremacy, militarism, war, and fascism?
