The effect of failing a pushed Library Use roll.

Somewhat the same here in Sweden. We have a wonderful translation of the rules that also relocates the setting to 1920s Sweden, but not much other material that have been translated. But on the other hand most of the target audience here are fluent in English so the focus have been on creating local material (adventures and a sourcebook for my home town that have been painted as "the Arkham of Sweden" ).
@mrundkvist @MrShark #CallOfCthulhu is huge in Germany, and only a minuscule amount of the material has been translated into English. #pnpde
Making Enemies explores everything that goes into creating monsters and villains from the ground up for #DnD 5E, #Pathfinder 2E, #Shadowdark, the #CypherSystem, and #CallOfCthulhu. Includes 20 original monsters and interviews with some of the most brilliant names in RPG and creature design. #TTRPG
Yesterday I ran #CallOfCthulhu for my colleagues at work. The six players played "The Haunting" as former Boston University college-mates in July 1926.
The characters gets embroiled in the abduction of their friend Mia, the suspicious murder of her husband and the manor which once belonged to Walter Corbitt!
The Brothers Grimm described a familiar spirit as looking "not quite like a spider, not quite like a scorpion, but it moves incessantly" - a great line that would not look out of place in a H.P. Lovecraft story.

It also includes conversations with some of the most brilliant names in RPG and creature design: @mikemason, @lula, @Mike, Banana Chan, Kelsey Dionne and Willy Abeel …

Because I'm a writer, I think reading also goes without saying here. I love reading (and listening to audiobooks) so much. So, number one, and at the top of the list: I'm a podcaster. I have a paranormal podcast named #PANDASDEN.
Random fact about me, I'm a huge gamer. To name a few of my loves: Call of Duty Zombies, Assassin's Creed, Dragon Age, Baldur's Gate, Layers of Fear, Diablo, Zelda, and The Witcher. I have a full gaming desk setup, love my Switch, and older gaming systems too, of course.
As far as gaming goes, I'm also a #TTRPG game or dungeon master as well. I've had some campaigns running since about '09 or '10 with close friends. I love it. We have or are playing various games such as #DnD / #DungeonsAndDragons, #CyberpunkRED, #Cyberpunk2020, #VampiretheMasquerade, #CallOfCthulhu, and a lot of homebrew stuff as well.
Aside from that, I'm a sports fan. That keeps me busy enough, believe me. I probably get my daily cardio minutes in during games or races.
Not to be forgotten, I love cooking as well. And photography. I'm (more than) a bit of a classic film nut, too. TCM feels like home. You guys know that about me, I'm sure.

(FWIW, I’m not a Chaosium employee or anything, just a fan who thinks this is an amazing deal.)
One of my favourite things about Call of Cthulhu (the RPG) is that it's a core part of the game that you can (and SHOULD) in any situation and city, town or village...
Go bother a librarian about obscure and/or strange things and look at a bunch of books to fact check things people have said. Library Use is a skill, and it's an important skill!
I just like it.
Moving along, in 2025, I'll tackle a new, weekly #OSE game (#TheHallsOfArdenVul), as well as continuing campaigns of OSE, #CallOfCthulhu, #DCCRPG, #DnD5e, #TheOneRing, and #TravellerRPG from 2024. And at the very least, I'll get to play in person at #CanCon, if not other cons and game days (possible now because I've finally settled down in a city). In all likelihood, I'll probably finally catch COVID, but that's the price of assembling in crowds these days, I guess.

That said, though, I got to play the #ADnD1e classic White Plume Mountain, an abridged version of #TravellerRPG's equally noteworthy “Ancients" saga (albeit mostly in #CypherSystem), @Splinterbone's ongoing #DnD5e #ForgottenRealms campaign, an irregular #MonsterOfTheWeek game, began campaigns of #OSE and #TheOneRing, and proudly participated in Al Smith's likely endless reimagining of #CallOfCthulhu's colossal #MasksOfNyarlathotep, featuring amongst many other embellishments…

Last weekend we completed a #DeltaGreen
scenario GMed by Ivan: Music From A Darkened Room. No one died on our watch except for one sacrificial person who graciously volunteered. I lost Sanity below my Breaking Point.
Well at least the banishment spell worked in the game!
