Fascism weaponizes the #ToxicMasculinity trait of never admitting you're wong. This is made even worse by the fact that they were swindled by a tier C grifter from Queens.
Combine that with American Exceptionalism & the desire for comfort over all and ~1/2 of America is still denying the reality in front of them.
#TonicMasculinity is swallowing your pride, listening to those being harmed long before you & speaking up for them. Especially if your voice is louder than theirs.

I just watched a Blue Rodeo doc (called Lost Together) and man! it was a masterclass of male friendship, collaboration, conflict resolution, vulnerability, and trust.
Fekkin beautiful.

Prediction: Kamala wins both the popular vote and the electoral college definitively by Wednesday morning. She gets the majority of the swing states and there will be at least one red state surprise flip. Democrats keep the Senate and add one seat majority. Democrats flip the house and gain 10 seats.

#Weird” — #TimWalz’s inspired epithet for #MAGA leadership—was delivered in a tone of goshdarnit perplexity, & w/it, he laid claim to the role of norm-setting paterfamilias. The other guys were the basement-dwelling nephews & #conspiracy-theorizing uncles.
From late summer’s VP pageant of Democratic middle-aged American white men, #TimWalz emerged as an avatar of football-coaching, social-studies-teaching, father-figure affability, & this appeal helped carry him past arguably more strategic choices to a spot on the #Harris ticket. His affect, along w/his record as #Minnesota governor, made progressive policies look like a matter of folksy #CommonSense.
He’s [dad is] a little goofy, while maintaining his authority. He’s not cool, but you wouldn’t want him to be. “Dad,” in such contexts, implies reliability with no pretense of novelty or vanity beyond a dash of self-awareness—“Dad” brings a sense of humor to the fundamentally conservative appeal of familiarity.
Perhaps no previous politician has taken up the mantle of Dad in quite the way #TimWalz has.
