Is anyone still playing Champions/Hero System? I have some great new items in stock for you!
Also, some AD&D classics, play in Lankhmar, or explore the ruins of Greyhawk Castle.
On the subject of how rules differ between versions...
OD&D/LBBs - the spell "Cure Light Wounds" heals d6+1 same for potion.
AD&D/1e - the spell "Cure Light Wounds" heals d8 (no +1 pip), but the potion is 2d4+2!
OD&D/LBBs - natural healing is every other day (even days), complete rest required.
AD&D/1e - natural healing every day, complete rest required. CON factors into this (penalties always, bonuses after 1st wk).
Gets me EVERY TIME I switch games!
Huh... a discussion of Adventures in the Dungeon, the OTHER 1979 Gary Gygax game, and likely only game ever to feature a "Rangeress" as a character class.
It was published as part of the "Official Advanced Dungeons and Dragons: Coloring Album" [sic!] and while it clearly is a vehicle to get kids interested in #adnd the way Gygax presents it seems to carefully avoid mentioning #dnd at att.

Das blende ich immer wieder aus, aber AD&D 2nd hatte Level Caps für Rassen-Klassen-Kombinationen

I had some great old-school stuff come in this week! Before you ask the answer is yes! The Deities & Demigods is a First Print with Cthulhu and Melnibonean Mythoi. It is also in terrible shape, but if you have to have one...
I don't know how many #boardgame players are out there. But my teenager just said "#munchkin is the #tiktok of #ADnD" and that was kind of profound.
#ADnD clarifies it in Gygax' overly exacting style, and at the same time makes it worse: it bans edged and pointed weapons (that draw blood)
...
Do vampires actually bleed when you stab them? That opens a whole other can of worms. Technically your cleric might now be banned from stabbing vampires right after their meal.
You might want to ask first.
Since 3 out of 4 from my previous post have already gone to new homes so here are some more new items.
The Monster Manual is an early printing with red paper inside the cover and on the flyleaves.
Better late than never: Here comes my #Cauldron2024 recap (plus some extra lore)!

Another great #Cauldron OSR con comes to an end. Big thanks to all DMs, participants and fellow con staff who made it as awesome as it was!

"Sentient swords are actually a restricted form of spellcasting for non-caster classes. I think they're really important, that using them should generally not be a hassle, and neglecting to roll for them is a contributing factor to caster superiority."

Some great stuff came in this week! Well-loved copies of The Village of Hommlet and a first edition Players Handbook, Best of the Dragon, a couple of 2e Player's books, and a Judges Guild classic.
