The chaotic state of play for abortion rights in the United States illustrates the consequences of failing to integrate efforts to strengthen democracy into strategies for advancing gender equity and vice versa. For philanthropic leaders, the twin goals of strengthening democracy and advancing gender equity presents a compelling case for simultaneous investment. Divorcing gender justice from democracy is inconsistent ideologically, and it’s also irrational and unnecessarily expensive. To separate them is to delay success and pay for it many times over.

I finally got around to making some samples of the oxblood ruby! While I didn't get any of the Gaffer oxblood samples we pulled, the Kugler extra dark is -well maybe a tad too dark. Left to right front facing is #Murano effetre ruby, then real #Corning Oxblood, then the last two are the hand pulled extra dark Copper Ruby.
The hand pulled $ are actually really nice browns- even pumped #neon !

MAYBE #CCS is in the early stages like photovoltaics when it was in the early stages: eye wateringly #expensive and not very good at all.
MAYBE it can be scaled up and become a lot cheaper.

But let's not count on that.
Also, the speed of the transition matters. a lot. Let's just stop burning stuff so there's no need to clean up after the #emissions.

Carbon capture and storage (otherwise known as #CCS) is a licence to ramp up #emissions.
CCS will never be a ‘zero-emissions’ solution.
CCS is eye-wateringly #expensive.
Chevron’s #Gorgon Gas Plant in WA, which is the biggest attempt at a CCS project in the world, is a big, expensive failure.

@Sustainable2050 Have a look. The #heatpump went in a year ago. #OEM power telemetry started in June; added temp in July. It took me until end of Nov to understand that temp compensation had been set at 60 ˚C (15 ˚C external) 35 ˚C (–2 ˚C external)!! Gah! Which explains why the flow temperature (green) bounces like a kangaroo until I finally figured out how to access the settings around Nov 26th. Internal temp in red. External in yellow. Power drawn (not just pump) in grey. 😳 #expensive
