I received this beautiful boxed set of Les Maitres du Temps today

To think that I discovered this animated film three months ago!

I fell in love with it immediately

Moebius (Jean Giraud)

This guy is so awesome, super prolific and always so imaginative and weird and spiritual. I'd leave this world to live in Moebius' world in an instant. At least for a while.

Another scifi / fantasy artist that isn't into monsters and wars and apocalypse and zombies (or superheroes).

Les Maîtres du temps (René Laloux, 1982) This had been on my watchlist for lightyears. Technically advanced #animation makes the most of the imaginative world building by #Moebius. As can be expected the French synth soundtrack is superb too. Although the story at times can be chaotic the overall arc with the appearance of the time masters is surprisingly melancholic. #cinemastodon #sciencefiction #film

The show was beautiful and intense the entire time.

It wears the #Moebius influence on its sleeve, Kris and some of the plants could have been from Time Masters, but there are also a fair number of nods to #HayaoMiyazaki and #KatushiroOtomo
