Redoing my #Introduction to include hashtags
About myself:
I was in tech pretty early as a kid, can't afford my own tech so had to use public resources to teach myself.
Past life (1980s-90s): Ran a BBS and a network, created BBS sharewares, created game hack/cheats, wrote game walkthrough FAQs. This is where part of my nick (pH_) came from. I spent >10 years coding sharewares and helping pre-college students with their programming projects, and being rejected by all the universities in my ex-country for no "proper training in computer science".
(2000s) Ran my own web development business for a bit, but I pulled out of it before the 'fast food' style of DIY website wizards hit the industry. It was at the same time I realised car detailing is a much more lucrative business.
Present life: a systems/network engineer for a couple of decades, network and security architect for the next decade plus. I'm in infosec currently, they call me an architect, my ex-manager calls me the adult in a room. I help business owners to "get" infosec and risks. I draw boxes all day
Interests:
I am obsessed with lego, I am learning photography for about 20 years now. I game a lot.
I watch too much anime and play too much JRPG.
i also appreciate: Web comics, art, memes
I generally want to do too many things and have too little time to do all of it.
Things I'm currently learning: pentesting, malware analysis, rust, solving a rubik's cube.
I don't expect to find old friends here, but I hope to make new ones in my journey to better myself.
(and none of the above are answers to security questions :P)
