Imagine this. We booked a “chalet” and only discovered afterward that it doesn’t have a bathroom!

That entails us walking to a separate toilet block.

So, we are glamping; something my wife said she’d never do 🤣

Thankfully, the weather is great, so nighttime visits to the loo aren’t too awful 😂
Doubly thankful that she’s enjoying every moment 😀

Looking on streetview (2009), there's also a lovely reverse glass gilded fascia sign next door. I wonder if that's still in situ today?

I'm not sure how typical #Whitby is but as this chart shows the influx of #investors looking for rental properties (and second homes) in #seaside towns has transformed the prices in Whitby.

You'll be unsurprised to know the locals want something done before they & their children are priced out of the town by absentee (short-term let) #landlords - sometimes the 'vision economy' can have a devastating impact on other aspects of the town concerned!
