Is there any such thing as an authoritative (or reliable) rendering of the #VishnuSahasranamam in both #Sanskrit (including Devanagari) and English translation? Have found one or two but they're blogs and I don't know how accurate they are.

I'm very much into #yoga and #meditation and everything related to that. I'm trying to learn #Sanskrit because its a beautiful language and also in order to be able to read text like the #BhagavadGita #Upanishads #YogaSutras which greatly inspire me.
I'm from the #Netherlands and work in #science in the field of #AirQuality I may occasionally share something about that, but this is not a work account (and any opinions are my own).

Launched a web version of the #sanskrit #dictionary based on the Cologne Digital Sanskrit Dictionaries, but hopefully with a better ui.
Written in #clojure.
Searches across a bunch of dictionaries simultaneously, fuzzy search, reverse full-text search across the articles.
Medieval Courtesans
#Devadasis were from South India and tawaifs were associated with the North. #Tawaifs were #courtesans attached to royal courts.
Devadasis were traditionally associated with temples, though some also performed in courtly settings. “Devadasi" literally means "servant of god" in #Sanskrit. “Tawaif" comes from an Awadhi term for courtesans.

As a multiracial Westerner, this journey is adorned with reverence & continuous learning, I'm also navigating the process of decolonizing my mind & life. Though a newcomer to Sanātana Dharma, I am eager to embrace this ancient culture & way of life. One of my #DH students wants to do a project on word separation in #Sanskrit manuscripts. The project is very interesting, but unfortunately I have no experience with any Indian languages/scripts. Can anyone recommend
a) a database of transcribed (not transliterated) Sanskrit texts;
or
b) a palaeographical manual for Sanskrit?

Owner of these Sri GSS Murthy visited our scanning facility with his wife and was amazed to see things we are doing around #openknowledge #openaccess initiatives here in India.
